Create Your Own Holiday Cards
2008-12-03
Creating your own holiday cards for friends and family can be a great project to undertake during your school's winter break!
Here is what you'll need:
Different colored construction paper
Safety scissors
Glitter pens
Black Marker
Holiday stencils (Menorah's, Santa Claus, Christmas trees and dreidels. If you are artistic, you can draw these freehand!)
The best part about this project is that you can create anything you'd like! You can even create different cards for different people. Here are the steps:
Step 1: Make a list of the people you want to give personal cards to this holiday
Step 2: Fold your chosen color of construction paper in half width-wise.
Step 3: Hold the paper so that it will open like a card, from right opening to left. Write a greeting on the front to the first person on your like. (Example: "Merry Christmas Mom!")
Step 4: Stencil of draw something below the greeting like a Christmas tree or a menorah. Don't forget to make it extra pretty by tracing your drawing with a glitter pen!
Step 5: Open up the card, if you used a glitter pen or glue on the front, be sure to wait until it dries. Write a special note to the person on the right side of the card. You can write anything you want, an inside joke, a special message or just a note wishing them a happy holiday.
Step 6: Put the finishing touches on and decorate in any way you'd like!
SLA Look of the Day!

We adore Paz Vega's Cinderella look!
At the Marie Claire Prix De La Mode 2008 Awards held at the French Embassy in Madrid, Spain, actress Paz Vega arrived in a sea green and white Louis Vuitton gown that reminds us of Cinderella's dress! The actress, best known for her role opposite Adam Sandler and Tea Leoni in "Spanglish", paired the gown with only a diamond bracelet and softly tousled hair. The dress doesn't need much and is the star of the show!
